William Ivey, specializes in estate planning, and estate and trust administration for individuals, families, and business owners. William balances his clients’ tax and nontax objectives to ensure assets efficiently transition from one generation to another in an impactful manner. In his practice, William utilizes a variety of estate planning techniques, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, charitable gifting, closely held business interests, and life insurance. William frequently authors client alerts and articles detailing legal developments in the trusts and estates practice area.
William attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was a special visitor for the probate court, a will’s scrivener, elected to the Pro Bono Board, and a senior editor for the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trusts and Estates Journal. William earned his Taxation LL.M., with honors, from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law. While studying at Northwestern, he was staff editor for the American Bar Association’s Tax Journal.
